therealjmo.com is up

I am pretty sure that I like the idea of starting blogs and coming up with designs and names a lot more than I like trying to write in one. I wonder if there is a career in that? Maybe I'll make one. Anyways, therealjmo.com is up a ready and loaded with a couple quickies. I think my new stuff will go up there, and I will take the good stuff from here and move it over. So, check out the other one, no new stuff here, and thats about it. JMO

Feeling Special

I'm not a writer so I will now stop playing one on the internet. (So it's just the video.)

Into the Wild

As a soon-to-be college graduate, maybe this movie speaks more to me than to others. But, as I move forward and have to save up and work hard, I will hopefully carry some of the importance of focusing on my goals, and not wasting time, energy, and money on things that I do not want and do not need. "The things you own end up owning you", and I would much rather only carry with me the things I need to survive in NYC (my 'wild').

Fox News again (it's that kinda day)

Reporting live for hopefully the last time...

One more video of excitement

Another instance of Ron Paul showing up on the internet...

And the real deal...

So, not so much on TV for CARPOOL, but good pub for TAMU.

Live in the MSC

More to come...

Secret Church

New format, same name. New topics, same host. Today it's Secret Church, which is my fantasy of meeting in small groups for spirituality. It is the opposite of advertising and masquerading in religion. Hopefully I can find/start this.

Chain = Broken

Well, it had to happen sometime. But, it was worth it. We had an amazing exec retreat in CP, I got to see Meg earlier in the weekend, and it was just a very fulfilling time. I am hoping to have some more lessons learned, but I imagine I may run out of those sooner than later. Also, I think I will try to do these during the day, so I don't sound like I haven't slept in three days so much.

Almost done with my first week

WEll, its been a good week. Easy classes, lots done in CARPOOL, and some other things good too. Today I played with the GPS devices. More to follow on that. I know, but I will have more tomorrow.

Come on Aggies

Well, it was a pretty nice day. Class was easy. We had a TA that was for two classes at once, which was nice. Then the aggies sucked it up against Tech. But I was drinking dollar Shiner, so it was alright. Good night overall; no stupid mistakes.

Macworld oh my

Well, I have been waiting a while for this. I did not expect to be so disappointed and happy a the same time. The only iPhone news was the upgraded firmware (1.1.3), which I got this afternoon. Disappointed because there was no 3rd party or 3G news, but happy that they aren't coming out with a new one already, and for the new firmware, which is awesome (custom buttons, find-me button, etc.) The Macbook air was a disappointment and excitement too. I think it is overpriced and mostly useless, and it is making me reconsider the eee pc , and possibly the cloudbook by everex. Both of these seem to fit a niche need. The only niche the MBA fits is in the high-end looks, not in high-end functionality. I am also more happier than ever to have my macbook (which I am using right now). The rest of my day was spent at the CP house, losing my mind trying to get the DSL to play nice with the router. It finally worked, and I honestly don't know why or how. Then I went over to Steri...

Google was down last night

Well, this post is coming from yesterdays video. For some reason everything google was down. Anyways, it was my last first day of class, and it was a good one. Start at 1:50, just a single class (ethics), and I have a couple of friends in there. It's shaping up to be a good semester. Hopefully I can get all this CP stuff figured out before Thursday.

What a nice day

it's days like this where I am glad to have a jmoment. Today's was probably monopoly, which I won thanks to Abra. Abra also had goodies for me. An iphone box (which I thought got stolen) which contained a dock . Also, she had a St. Arnolds Christmas Ale glass for me, so that was great too. I had a good time today, and took it easy, and only spent about $12, so it was a pretty good day. But I miss Meg, so hopefully I will be able to correct that tomorrow.

Another quickie

I need to stop having such long nights. CP training went off without a hitch. It was really great, and the old an new members seemed to enjoy themselves. I had a great time tonight just hanging out. Thanks again to everyone for the great night.

Just a short one

Today was busy. Fluor and CP. Training run through went well. I had some fun this evening. More to come tomorrow. I need some sleep.

CIM and more CARPOOL after

It's been an all CARPOOL day. Very exciting stuff, but also time consuming. We talked about a lot at our continuous improvement meeting, and then making a video after was a lot of fun as well. I am pretty sure I couldn't make a career out of it, but I bet I could come close. Now I am watching Once , and waiting for videos to encode.

DIM and such

Well, I did CARPOOL stuff most of the day, and then I played Monopoly, and more VC with Stephen and Mikhail, and won. Then we went to Ozona's and I made a new friend (Kim). And it was good. So we will see how tomorrow goes. No links tonight. I'm just glad I got a video done.

Not too much today

I guess it's the calm before the storm. CARPOOL all the rest of the week, and then school starts for the last time. I wrote my first Function for the website. I guess it's not good that all the code is inline, but it's pieced together that way and I don't know how to do it any other way (yet). Really wish I had some time to learn OOP . Maybe PHP soon.

Long day, late night

Stayed up too late. CES is killing my Google Reader. I'm talking a post every minute, or it sure seems that way. BCS Blowouts to cap a year of surprises. Would like to see Georgia play LSU, but that should have happened already I guess (thanks for nothing Tennessee). Website stuff has been fun, but I am sleepy. More news on tickets and CARPOOL tomorrow.

Relaxing and Monopoly

What a nice day. It as beautiful outside, and I got to just lay around and watch a foreign film and such. Then this evening, it was some Rock Banding (I am not so good at the singing or drums) and then an intense game of Monopoly. There were 6 to start, only one monopoly that was genuinely purchased, but through my trading magic I turned a light blue and a magenta into a money-making, house-hoarding, fantastic trade that put me into somewhat of a drivers street until tragedy struck. But then, I was able to make it more interesting, and walk away happy. In the end, you have to spin trades so the other person is more distracted with what they get (or could get) than what else is happening. Focus is a horrible thing in monopoly. You can't ever want or need. You have to be extremely flexible and weigh all the options. The secret is, if you are driving, then you better know where you are going. Sterin owes me.

CARPOOL and some Rock Band

CARPOOL Development Council meeting went really well today. It's nice to see those guys and see them step up into roles that are probably slightly familiar in their CARPOOL careers. It's always nice to get praise on hard work . Over at Sterin's, we rocked out to Dani California and Say it Ain't So. Tons of fun. With 4 people, easily better than Guitar Hero, but alone, the Hero is the winner. And of course, beer hockey was great as always. It's very good to see Meg. I really do love her. And even though you will never see this, mad props Stephen.

Didn't leave the house

Not much was done today. Did some Fluor stuff. Found my V-Moda headphones! And it turns out Amazon has an amazing return policy if you do it before the item gets there, so I can return the new ones. Other than that, I watched Waiting for Guffman (identical cast to Best in Show ), Match Point (I enjoy cheating movies ), and Shoot 'Em Up . All in all, it was nice. And then capped it off by playing some VC with Stephen and Mikhail. Oh, and I rock at Wii golf.

Computer all day

I sat at home and played on the computer all day. It was good. Thanks and Gig'em. How did I get 2 minutes done.. by repeating myself. I love the internet. Absolutely love the internet.

How did this happen again?

Well I got robbed again. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, you are still an asshole. I want to say R.I.P. to my $300 Escort (best in the business), my brand new headphones (which weren't that comfortable anyway), and my cheap radio which I reloaded at Best Buy with a generous discount. I wanna say thanks for leaving the cash (which in turn bought the new radio), and as far as the Bible goes, I agree with my Mom that you may need this more than me (if you can read it that is). Maybe whoever robbed me will see this on one of the two computers they already stole and give something back. For the record, everything I have replaced has been categorized as charity on my financials. I think this is fair. Here's to more "illiterate" zings in the future, which I believe to be one of the greatest insults ever.

First link in the chain

Ok, so apparently I haven't been blogging. I have just been doing video journaling, which is fine with me. I don't really care. But today, I will try linking things. So first off I had my JMOment, which was watching the Michigan-Florida game . It was great. Tech did alright too. The rest were blow-outs, because Illinois couldn't stop coughing up the ball. I hope this Don't break the chain thing works. Self-guilt is a powerful motivator. Ask anyone who is religious. And of course, that staplefree stapler is awesome.
